What Comes Next CIC goes to Brighton

Photographic evidence of What Comes Next CIC having it's first stall at a Womens event. 🥰

On Sunday I was invited to the Women Against the Far Right event in Brighton, and I’m still thinking of all the conversations shared throughout the evening. Speaking with a predominantly female audience made space for discussions that felt honest, thoughtful and genuinely meaningful. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to ask questions and connect.

There were many powerful speakers across the evening, but one message has stayed with me. Nadia Barton Ahmad: “Misogyny has not been imported. It did not arrive on a little boat.”

I couldn’t agree more.

Violence against women and girls is not a problem that belongs to any one community, nationality or faith. It exists in our homes, workplaces, schools and institutions, and it has always been here. When VAWG is used as a tool for racist rhetoric, it does absolutely nothing to protect women... if anything, it distracts from the real causes and leaves survivors without the support they need.

Ending VAWG means confronting it wherever it happens and whoever is responsible.

Thank you to Women Against the Far Right for having us.
